7 steps · about 15 minutes. You can pause at any time, and every step shows a gentler alternative.
Three reasons this session is worth your ten minutes, and what you should notice changing over the first few weeks.

Step by step
Hold the band with both hands, palms facing each other, hands shoulder-width apart. There should be a little tension already.
Modify this move
Use a lighter band or hold it wider to reduce tension.
Pull both hands back past your ribs, squeezing your shoulder blades together. Hold two seconds, then release slowly. Ten repetitions.
Modify this move
Pull to your sides only if reaching back is uncomfortable.
Wrap the band behind your back and press both hands forward until arms are long. Ten slow repetitions.
Modify this move
Bring the band around your shoulders instead of behind your back.
Hold the band in front at chest height, then pull it apart and lift your hands overhead. Eight repetitions.
Modify this move
Stop at eye level if shoulders are tight.
Stand or sit on the middle of the band and curl both hands toward your shoulders, keeping your elbows pinned to your sides. Ten repetitions.
Modify this move
Do one arm at a time to keep the tension manageable.
Squeeze the band in each hand for five seconds, three times per hand. This finishes off your grip strength.
Modify this move
Skip if your hands are sore from arthritis today.
Remove the band and reach both arms overhead, then gently draw them back down. Breathe out as you lower.
Modify this move
Circle your shoulders slowly if overhead reaching is limited.
